I enjoy drawing and painting a variety of traditional subjects, primarily in oil but also in acrylic, watercolor and pastel. My media and methods depend on what feels right for each painting project. These may include classic, impressionist, alla prima and other techniques, often in combination. Though I have painted for commissions, exhibited in solo and group shows, won some awards and have works in private and corporate collections, (primarily in North America and Europe), I mostly paint for my own indulgent pleasure.

Fine art has been a lifelong activity. My father was a professional illustrator and designer and encouraged my early interest in fine art. I have worked professionally for nearly 40 years in industrial and graphic design and marketing. I have traveled widely in the Americas, Europe and Africa, photographing, sketching and painting, and have been very fortunate to have painted and/or studied with some marvelous artists including Richard Schmid, Scott Burdick and Clayton J. Beck III. I currently live in Villanova, Pennsylvania with my family and paint both in my studio and outdoors.
